Success is a word I've been thinking about lately. I've been overindulged with it. It's a word that I believe we're all trying to achieve in one form or another. However, I do feel that success is different for each person. For one person it could be to make a million dollars, but for another, it may be to have a closer relationship with a family member and yet for another conquer a health issue.

Whatever success means to you, I do believe we need to try and achieve success in all areas of our lives that we think is of importance.

That brings up another point. With success, comes struggles and obstacles. To even get close to success you will struggle, you will go through crisis after crisis, you will get frustrated, and you will have to walk in unfamiliar territory.

The following is poem of a young woman's struggle to success that relates.

Ahead of Me

I look outside my window and I see a future that is long

I see where the sun sets and I see where the moon settles into the night

I'm in a world, where I am within my own world

No one knows me, but I am in the mist of everyone

I am me and I am one. I have a voice and I want it to be heard

I can feel the stresses coming at me every which way

I can hear the voices in my head and I can hear the voices from the world surrounding me in a bitter sweet way

My journey to success is but one, but it is made up of so may turns and directions and even confusion of what I know and don't know and what I've heard and what I've learned

Twenty-four years of my journey I have completed, and I still don't know the answers, but I do know I choose success, and I do know I choose to continue on with my journey

So I stop for a breather and think about what I've accomplished and what has hindered me and I look up into the sky and out into the distance. I look behind me and I even look in the mirror, to see who is trying to stop me.

I don't even know where I am, but I see possibilities, and I take a deep breath and release my tiredness into air and I begin walking again and then running towards my life of success
