How to Install an Inspirations Curved Shower Rod
- 1). Hold one of the wall plates against the wall with the post on the wall plate pointed toward the outside of the shower. Use a level to ensure that the plate is straight. Mark the holes to be drilled, using a pencil. If you're installing in drywall or tile, mark the two top outside holes and then the center bottom hole. If you're installing into a wall stud, mark the top and bottom center holes.
- 2). Drill the screw holes. Use a 1/4-inch bit if you're drilling into drywall, an 1/8-inch bit if you're drilling into studs or an 1/8-inch masonry bit if you're drilling into tile.
- 3). Insert the wall anchors that were included with the rod into the holes if you're installing the rod in drywall, or insert #10 wall anchors into the holes if you're installing in tile. Do not install anchors if you're installing the rod in wall studs.
- 4). Place the plate over the screw holes and then secure it, using the screws that were included if you're installing the plate in drywall. If you're installing the plate in tile or studs, secure it with #10 wood screws.
- 5). Slide the two plate covers onto the shower rod, and then slide the second wall plate onto the shower rod.
- 6). Slide the other end of the shower rod onto the plate mounted on the wall.
- 7). Rotate the shower rod upward, and place the plate against the wall. Mount the plate, repeating Steps 1 through 4.
- 8). Slide the cover over each base, and align the notches on the cover with the notches on the base. Press the cover in place to secure it.
