Fall and Winter Makeup: These 5 Classic Looks Are Always in Vogue

7
Each season new makeup trends are presented at fashion shows and then new makeup collections hit the shelves and cosmetic counters.  But some makeup looks return time after time.   Here's my list of the top 5 fall makeup looks that last:

1. No Makeup Makeup

The so-called no makeup makeup look has been around for several seasons, especially with such a focus on more natural and organic beauty products.  Makeup artists look to tinted moisturizers and BB creams, highlighting and contouring using bronzers or illuminators to sculpt the face, and using just a touch of concealer or foundation to even skin tone.

Whether you call it the no makeup makeup look, natural, bare or fresh-faced look, the focus is really on healthy skin.   These articles can help you get more radiant, glowing skin.

2. Cherry & Berry Lips

The fall and winter season brings richer and darker lipstick shades.  Even when trends lean toward brighter colors, sexy reds, elegant burgundies and intoxicating wines are always in vogue.   The only difference is that women who once thought their skin tone wasn’t right for these darker, deeper shades are taking a chance and finding lipsticks that work for them.

3. Smoky Eye

Each season brings variations of the smoky eye, from a super-smoked out look to a subtle classic smoky eye.

The smoky eye is the go-to look if you want a more chic or dramatic eye makeup look.

4. Defined Brows

While there have been seasons when bleached out or colored eyebrows have been seen on the runways, a strong defined brow brings character and refinement to a makeup look.

5. Earth Tones

Always on trend for fall are earthy tones for lips and eyes, with changes in textures from mattes, glosses, creams or metallics.   These tones are often used for a neutral look.  I also find these colors to be sophisticated and more natural.

For fun you’ll see pops of emerald and forest greens and deep blue and navy on the eyes and sometimes even on the lips.
