How to Detach a Dishwasher

    • 1). Turn off the dishwasher's power supply in your breaker panel.

    • 2). Turn off the dishwasher's water supply valve, which is often located below the sink in your kitchen.

    • 3). Remove the screws securing the lower-front access panel to the dishwasher. Remove the panel.

    • 4). Place a towel below the water supply tube on the left side of the underside of the dishwasher, then use the adjustable wrench to remove the water supply line from the inlet valve.

    • 5). Remove the screw securing the terminal block cover, which is located on the right side of the underside of the dishwasher. Remove the terminal block cover.

    • 6). Remove the two wire nuts from the wires to disconnect the dishwasher's power supply, then loosen the grounding screw and remove the grounding wire.

    • 7). Remove the strain relief nut from the base of the conduit cable, then pull the conduit cable through the rear of the dishwasher's terminal block and remove.

    • 8). Remove the screw on the clamp securing the dishwasher's drain hose to the dishwasher inlet on the garbage disposal or P-trap under your sink. Slide the clamp down the hose, then pull the hose off the inlet or P-trap.

    • 9). Remove the screws securing the dishwasher to the underside of the countertop.

      Turn the leveling legs counterclockwise to raise the dishwasher, making it easier to move, then gently pull the dishwasher out from under the counter.
