Won't Fill Up

• If your machine will not fill with water, first check to make sure the door is tightly closed and that it is properly plugged into the outlet. You may also need to reset a circuit breaker in the home that has been tripped.
  
  If none of these actions fixes the problem, check to see if your control dial is on the proper setting and hit the "start/stop" button on the machine, making sure both water hoses connected to the washer are fully open and that there are no kinks in the hoses. If there is still no water coming through, you may need to clean the filters in the hoses to remove a blockage in the water line. Turn off both hoses before removing the hoses to clean them.
  
  

Tumble/Spin Issues

• If the washer door is firmly shut, the unit is properly plugged in and no circuit breakers in the house need to be reset, try manually resetting the control dial to the correct spin cycle on the unit and press the "start/stop" control firmly. If the drain hose is clogged the unit will not drain or spin, so check for kinking in the hose and that the outlet it is draining into is not blocked or clogged. If it is clogged you may need to call in a drain specialist to resolve the issue. Once the drain is clear and the hose can properly evacuate water, try resetting the control to see if this has resolved your problem. If it does not, call your Maytag repairman (he's lonely).
  
  

Other Issues

• Leaking may be caused by a loose hose connection, an improperly inserted drain hose into the outlet or soaking your clothes in the washer for longer than 30 minutes. Other causes might be that you have overloaded the machine beyond its considerable capacity.
  
  If the washing machine becomes locked and you are unable to open it, press the "start/stop" control to stop the machine and wait two minutes for the door to unlock on its own. This should resolve the problem.
  
  If your machine seems to stop mid-cycle, check to see if it is in the middle of a soaking period before doing anything else and wait several minutes to see if it continues along in the cycle.
