Location

• The 1992 Chevy Beretta's fuel filter is located underneath the vehicle. It is on the passenger's side of the fuel tank, which is below the back seat. The fuel filter is a metal cylinder slightly smaller than a soda can.
  
  

Purpose

• The device filters fuel coming from the gas tank. It traps contaminants and particles and prevents them from entering into your Beretta's fuel injection system, which could cause damage. The fuel filter may become clogged with particles over time. When this happens, you may experience reduced engine power and sluggish acceleration.
  
  

Replacing the Fuel Filter

• Because of the intensity of the procedure, only mechanically inclined owners should attempt to replace the fuel filter at home. You'll need to relieve the fuel system pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to prevent the fuel line from spraying. You'll then need to raise and support the Beretta to access and replace the old filter.
