How to Troubleshoot KitchenAid Convection Microwaves
- 1). Check to make sure the household fuse hasn't blown or the circuit breaker hasn't tripped if the oven won't operate.
- 2). Make sure the door is closed. Verify that the installer hasn't left packaging in the oven. There is a packaging spacer that must be removed. Open the door and close it again after removing any obstructions.
- 3). Check for dirt buildup if the oven arcs. Dirt at the area where the door touches the frame can cause arcing. Soil buildup on the walls and cooking rack support can cause problems too.
- 4). Put a couple of slices of bread on the tall grill rack, place the rack in the oven and close the door. Program the oven using manual grill (no microwave) for four minutes. If the bread hasn't toasted to dark brown there's a problem with the grill and you should call for service.
- 5). Heat a cup of cold water for two minutes at 100 percent microwave cooking power. If the water doesn't heat, verify that door is firmly closed, make sure control lock is off and make sure the oven isn't in demo mode.
