We all know that the one thing our kids are really interested in are animals, you can see the sparkle in their eyes whenever they see an animal they have not seen before.
Remember the first time you brought your kids to the zoo, remember how excited and thrilled they were to see the different animals.
You can't almost stop them with all the questions they have regarding all the animals they have seen.
Now that natural interest of kids about animals and wildlife is very good for parents because we can teach them about the environment and how different animals live in their own habitat.
But you know kids today have a very short attention span and if you just keep on talking about animals without any visual material they will be long asleep before you know it.
Children learn best when they are visually stimulated, try giving your kid a book with no pictures in it and see if they spend five minutes with it.
Children nowadays are getting more and more getting sophisticated specially with the internet and television.
But it will be nice if we can provide our kids with traditional reading materials that will teach them about animals and encourage them to read better.
We all know that books bore the hell out of kids and they are sometimes intimated by it, so they are reluctant to pick up a book.
Now this is the part where alternative reading materials come in handy like magazines.
Kids now are not scared of magazines in fact they welcome them because they know that it has a lot of pictures.
The more pictures a magazine has the more the child will be more interested in it.
