How to Troubleshoot a Bissell 12-Amp Vacuum Sweeper
- 1). Check the power cord if the vacuum will not turn on; make sure it is securely plugged into a working outlet.
- 2). Tighten the hose if the vacuum is not picking up debris. A loose hose will cause the vacuum to lose suction. Check for cracks or holes in the hose.
- 3). Check the vacuum for clogs if it loses suction. Remove any debris that is causing the clog.
- 4). Wipe the separator grill of all debris if the vacuum has low suction. A clogged separator grill will restrict airflow in the cleaner. Remove the dirt container to access the separator grill. Pull the grill straight down to remove it. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
- 5). Empty the dirt container if there is visible dirt escaping from the vacuum sweeper. A full dirt container will prevent vacuumed dirt from properly depositing in the container. Slide the "Lock 'n Seal" lever to the "Unlock" position to unlock and remove the dirt container.
- 6). Inspect the wipers if the cleaner is not sweeping up dirt and debris. Replace the wipers if they are cracked or worn.
