How to Repair a Magic Chef Oven
- 1). Turn off the oven and unplug its cord from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Open the oven's door to expose the racks located inside the oven. Slide and remove each rack from inside the oven. You should then find the Magic Oven's heating element at the base of the oven.
- 3). Carefully pull the heating element towards you. Clip the two wires securing the element to the oven panel with a pair of sharp scissors. With long, needle-nose pliers, hold the bolt that secures the heating element in place, turning it counterclockwise for removal. Lift the heating element out once the bolt is removed.
- 4). Slide the new heating element in place of the old one. Reinsert the wires as instructed on the heating element's label, making sure that they are fastened in securely. Tuck the wires back behind the oven's insulation panel.
- 5). Replace the oven racks and plug the oven back in before operating.
