College Students Trash-Pick Their Way to Comfort

11
One major, yet most beneficial, obstacle for a college student to overcome is finding a way to materialize imaginative ideas.
In other words, to make things happen.
College students have come up with several of the best money making and money saving schemes that the world has to offer.
And for good reason - students want and need money, but it's hard to come by.
For instance, dorm rooms are the focal point for social interactions - the more hip room is most likely where everyone wants to hang out.
However, with no money how the hell are college students going to have all of the furniture to make a room attractive and enticing? There is a solution.
Some college campus' residents go junking, as I like to call it.
Yes, trash picking.
It's nothing to be ashamed about.
There are magnificent finds on a curb every week awaiting one's use.
One man's trash is another man's treasure! If you have no shame, why spend the money when you can get it for free.
Trash picking is a little labor intensive and you may feel like you are on a re-run of Sanford and Son, but don't worry.
You will quickly get over that feeling once you see the gold that college students throw away.
Some universities participate in a flea market where trash goods are picked up and sold at low prices.
It's a bargain.
At the end of the school year, students are either too lazy to pack, don't have the room in their cars; or they disregard furniture, kitchenware, and electronics.
It's a gold mine and the university staff and volunteers travel around campus picking the trash and getting everything ready for the big day's sale.
This is a great way to save money and purchase furniture to fill up your room to make it a student attraction rather than a prison cell.
As you can see there are ways to get furniture in your dorm rather than going to IKEA and spending the big bucks.
Take advantage of what the university will provide and see if they do a Flea Market of disposed goods.
But, don't forget, there's always the opportunity to go out in the cover of darkness, if you don't want to be noticed, and start searching trash for treasure!
