How to Install an Intermatic Timer for Yard Lights
- 1). Align the ground stake holes with the screw holes on the back of the timer, if the Intermatic timer comes with a stake. Insert screws into the holes and screw the stake to the back of the timer. If you prefer to mount the timer to an inside location, such as the garage, insert screws through the screws holes on the front of the timer and screw the timer to the wall.
- 2). Insert the green Intermatic tripper components into the round timer at the times you want the lights to turn on. The timer features all 24 hours in a day on the face with the PM side in black and the AM side in white. Insert the red tripper components into the desired turn-off times.
- 3). Twist the whole dial clockwise or to the right, until the arrowhead at the top of the timer points to the current time in the display. The time must be correct in order for the green and red trippers to activate at the set times.
- 4). Switch all of the outdoor appliances that you wish to connect to the Intermatic timer to the “On” position.
- 5). Plug all outside lights into the outlets on the front of the Intermatic beneath the timer. Plug the timer into a wall outlet. All lights plugged into the timer will activate at the set time or times.
- 6). Hook the cover to the timer at the notches on the top of the Intermatic, if you wish to spike the timer into the ground outside. Lower the cover over the timer and the light plugs. Feed the power cords through the openings at the bottom of the timer.
