New York City is a popular tourist destination, with something for every type of traveler: restaurants, museums, parks, theater and historical landmarks. If you're traveling with your significant other, there are several romantic things you can while you're in town. With a little bit of money and planning, you can create a romantic atmosphere that neither one of you will soon forget. - Central Park is the biggest park in New York City, serving as an urban oasis for tourists and residents alike. A meandering walk along the roads, bridges and tunnels in the park can provide a calming escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. For a romantic afternoon, pack a picnic lunch before you go to the park. Cherry Hill (which is near Bethesda Fountain) is a popular and comfortable place to picnic. Unpack your blanket, spread out your lunch and cuddle with your loved one as you watch the gondolas glide on the lake.

At just over a mile, a leisurely stroll takes about 30 minutes. Start on the Manhattan side of the bridge, and notice the old ships and piers below you at the South Street Seaport. As you approach Brooklyn, you'll see the Statue of Liberty on your right-hand side. When you get to the end of the bridge, follow the signs for DUMBO. Here, you can enjoy a slice of pizza at Grimaldi's famous pizzeria, followed by dessert at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.

Transported 1,050 feet by a high-speed elevator, you'll end up on the promenade that surrounds the building. Here you'll enjoy spectacular views of the city in all directions. Many couples become engaged on top of the Empire State Building, and every year on Valentine's Day, 14 couples are selected to have their nuptials performed on the promenade.
