German Shepherd Kennel - How It Is Used By Breeders

20
In the eyes of most people, a German Shepherd Kennel is simply a place where they can take this particular breed of dog when traveling on vacation. Others know this is the place where a breeder will keep the dogs while they're growing and getting old enough to sell. Still others know that breeders and use a German Shepherd Kennel as a private place for their pet.

A German Shepherd Kennel is a very large metal cage, typically made of steel or wire mesh. The area has four sides and a top and bottom so that it looks like a large and oversized cube or rectangular box. This type of space is larger than others so that the large breed of dog has ample space to move around and play.

Breeders typically use a kennel for two reasons. The first is to store the animal during a long period of time when the owner cannot be around. The dog will still have the chance to roam around freely and play outside as well as go on walks. At night though, the dog sleeps inside the German Shepherd Kennel. Some breeders will even wash and groom the dog while the owner's out of town.

In addition, breeders will also use a kennel to keep puppies and newborns safe until they're ready to leave. Puppies and newborns are susceptible to a number of diseases and problems if they're forced to leave their mother too soon. The mother teaches the babies how to react to outside threats and they also gain immunities from her milk. A good breeder knows this, which is why they keep the babies with the mother for 6-8 weeks before selling them to others.

An individual owner can also use a German Shepherd kennel. Since this type of dog is so large, many people keep them outside instead of inside their home. A kennel allows the owner to know their dog is safe, but also keeps the dog contained and stops it from wandering around the neighborhood. Even those that keep their dog inside for the majority of time can find it helpful to keep a kennel for those times when the dog needs the chance to be outside during the day.

There are a number of reasons why a pet owner or breeder would use a German Shepherd kennel. It provides safety for the dog, gives it a private space of its own and also lets the mother dog bound with her puppies.
