Color scheme wise bathrooms are usually light and airy and it will completely depend upon your own personal taste what you have in there.
It is perhaps one of the simplest rooms to decorate so if you want to make a start but you don't know where to begin; the bathroom is the room for you.
If you want to try something a little more complicated on the other hand, then why not try decorating your study? The study should be slightly formal with an intimate feel to it.
An antique desk looks particularly good in a study and it also adds the formality that you are after.
In order to find a good one you will need to go around to various dealers and see if you find anything that you like.
The walls can also be colored a warm color such as a warm red.
Bookshelves if they will fit are also a good idea.
Generally you get to have a little more input with the furniture in the study and it is slightly harder than decorating a bathroom! Overall it is certainly not impossible for you to decorate your home yourself.
