What to Do When Your Hamburger Press Is Sticking
- Spray the inside of the press with a releasing agent (like that used for baking), before making each patty.The spraying will add to the time it takes to make each patty, and could add to the greasiness of the burger.
- Place the press on a clean, flat surface and drape a sheet of plastic cooking wrap over the well that receives the hamburger. Place the burger in the well, then drape another piece of plastic wrap over the meat. Press the hamburger into a patty, then grasp the edge of the wrap under the patty to quickly pop-out the burger.
- Using plastic wrap between the burger and the hamburger press is the quickest and cleanest way to make burger patties in a press. The raw meat only comes in contact with the disposable wrap, which reduces the risk of contamination.
