How to Troubleshoot a GE Refrigerator Model TFX25PPAA Ice Maker

4
    • 1). Open the freezer door and pull out the ice bucket with your hands.

    • 2). Find the ice maker at the back of the freezer compartment. Make sure the ice maker power switch is in the "On" position. Look for a small light underneath the power switch. When the ice maker is on, the light is green.

    • 3). Check the white, plastic ice maker connector in the front of the ice maker. It should be firmly plugged in.

    • 4). Remove any ice from the ice maker paddle. The paddle is connected to the ice maker by one hinge and it senses the ice level. If ice is stuck to the paddle it could interfere with its ability to sense the ice level, chip it away carefully with a butter knife or place a hot rag on top of the ice until it melts away. Allow 24 hours for the ice maker to make ice if any of the above issues were found.

    • 5). Put the ice maker power button in the "Off" position if none of the above problems were discovered. Wait 15 seconds and turn if "On" again.

    • 6). Push in the paddle with your hand and allow it to pop back out three times. Avoid touching other ice maker components. Wait three minutes. The ice maker rake should automatically turn 360 degrees and the ice maker mold should fill with water.

    • 7). Call GE for an ice maker replacement if the rake did not turn and water did not fill the mold.
