How to Remove Door Panels on a 2005 GTO

4
    • 1). Open the door wide. Locate and remove the four screws along the bottom portion of the door panel with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Set these screws aside in a separate place from the other screws you remove; they are slightly different.

    • 2). Lift the door lock knob on the top part of the door panel. On the rod, you'll find a small cap. Pry the cap off with a small flat-head screwdriver. Remove the Phillips-head screw behind it.

    • 3). Remove the two Phillips-head screws from the rear side of the door panel. One screw is on the outer edge of the door-panel armrest; the other is next to the courtesy light.

    • 4). Remove the Phillips-head screw from the front portion of the panel. This screw is right next to the door-panel air vent.

    • 5). Pry off the plastic cover behind the door handle. Hold the door handle open to better access the cover. Remove the two Phillips-head screws behind the handle.

    • 6). Grasp the front part of the sail panel (side mirror-bolt cover). Pull it toward the rear to unhook it from the door panel.

    • 7). Push the door panel up, and then pull it away. If removing the driver-side door panel, unplug the power-mirror switch from behind.
