Spanish Holiday Rentals On The Island Of La Gomera
Take a look at La Gomera for one of your SPANISH HOLIDAY RENTALS. La Gomera is one of the Canary Islands and an ideal setting for a relaxed holiday away from the crowds. It could be just what you are looking for. The island is in the Atlantic Sea just off the coast of Africa. It is one of the smallest of the seven islands that form the Canary Islands. The island has not suffered the impact of tourism as the other islands in the group have for one reason it is harder to reach.
Tourists tend to choose the larger islands like Tenerife or Lanzarote for their island vacations, leaving La Gomera as an ideal place for a return to peace and tranquillity, a relaxing refuge and an ideal winter holiday spot. With the incredible sunny climate all year round it is an ideal winter holiday destination for those not looking for the cold weather resorts. The island benefits from the continuous hot weather that you come to expect being so close to the equator. Between November and March the temperature almost never drops below 18 degrees Celsius due to its vicinity to Africa.
If La Gomera is your destination then you need to ensure that your flight lands early enough in the day. Once at Tenerife, as long as you have enough time to get to the afternoon catamaran or the ferry service, you should reach La Gomera without too much difficulty. The flights to Tenerife are reasonably cheap and are constantly departing from most of the English airports. You will need the extra 30 minutes or so for a taxi to the ferry port and the crossing to San Sebastian takes about 40 minutes, depending if you catch the catamaran or the ferry. At San Sebastian unless you have an arrangement with your villa owners, taxis are easily available to take you to your residence; you could of course hire a car.
The island has many beaches and one of the best is the Valle Gran Rey. This is an attractive golden sand beach on the south west coast in an area of successful banana growing. Apart from passing your time on the beach you could spend it wandering through the many quaint forests and hillside walks. Hire a car to go up into the mountains: the highest spot on the island is the pinnacle of Garanjay and is only a 20 minute walk from where you would park the car. There are plenty to see as you meander through the pathways on your way up. And then when you get back to your SPANISH HOLIDAY RENTALS you should try out some of the local dishes in the restaurants in town.
