• Most fireplaces are constructed with brick, stone or reinforced concrete. There are also metal box fireplaces as well as vent-free fireplaces that burn natural gas, propane or gels.
  
  

Considerations

• Many different types of accessories can be used to operate a fireplace. Some of these accessories include grates, fireguards, pokers, tongs, andirons, shovels, brushes and tool stands.
