How to Paint With a Foam Roller
- 1). Fill the bucket about half full of paint. Submerge the roller screen inside the bucket and attach it to the outside of the bucket.
- 2). Dip the foam roller about halfway down into the paint. Bring it out of the paint while rolling it across the screen to remove excess. It may take up to six dips to sufficiently cover the foam roller if it's dry.
- 3). Sweep the foam roller over the surface using light pressure. Roll up and down quickly to spread the paint. Don't worry about paint buildup or marks right now. Continue painting the surface until your foam roller starts to get dry.
- 4). Roll over the area again with the drier foam roller to smooth out the paint buildup and marks.
- 5). Repeat for any other unpainted areas by filling the foam roller with paint. This time you should only need to dip it a few times before it has sufficient paint on it.
