How to Set Up iPhone for T-Mobile
- 1). Activate the T-Mobile SIM card. You can get a SIM card in any T-Mobile store or online and activate it online or over the phone. Make sure to select a smartphone plan, but turn the 3G option off; iPhones cannot connect to T-Mobile's 3G network.
- 2). Insert one end of a paper clip in the hole on the SIM card tray. On the iPhone 4, the SIM card tray is on the right side of the phone; on the original 3G and 3GS, the SIM card tray is located at the top between the headphone jack and the "sleep" button. The SIM card tray will pop out.
- 3). Insert the T-Mobile SIM card in the tray and gently push it back in place.
- 4). Turn on the iPhone and tap the "Settings" icon.
- 5). Tap "Off" to turn 3G off on the "Network" page.
- 6). Tap "Cellular Data" on the same page. Type epc.tmobile.com in the box next to APN; leave the username and password blank.
