The disadvantage is it is too hard.
Hard in a sense that it is not the friendliest stuff for kids.
Imagine your child falling down and hitting his head on the floor, not a good sight.
Another disadvantage is when winter comes or the cold season is in; expect it to be ice cold.
Not so comfortable for some people.
The installation process on the other hand, cannot be done by regular people.
It needs professional help on that.
So you better not do it yourself, you might mess it up.
Other than that, ceramic tile is great.
