How to Use Fungicide on a Tree
- 1). Check to make sure that you are using the correct fungicide for the fungi and the trees you are treating.
- 2). Put on protective gear and mix the fungicide with the recommended amount of water. Pour the fungicidal solution into a hose sprayer, pressurized sprayer or watering can.
- 3). Apply the mixture to trees making sure to cover the entire canopy and the undersides of leaves. Shake the container occasionally to keep the solution well-mixed. Apply fungicidal solution to the point of runoff.
- 4). Discard leftover spray in the manner recommended by the manufacturer or the regulations of your municipality. Fungicidal solutions contain powerful chemicals that may be subject to local laws and regulations for use and disposal.
- 5). Repeat application every seven to 14 days for the period of time recommended by the manufacturer. Excessive rain may warrant more applications.
