How to Put Belts Back on in Whirlpool Dryers
- 1). Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
- 2). Pull the lint screen out of its compartment on the top panel. Remove the two screws next to the compartment.
- 3). Slide the putty knife blade into the gap under the top panel in the front of the dryer. Lift the putty knife on each front corner to unhook the panel.
- 4). Lift the top panel. Rest the panel on the wall behind the Whirlpool dryer.
- 5). Remove the screws at the top of the front panel. Unhook the wire connector leading to the front panel. Set the front panel aside.
- 6). Move the idler pulley arm to the left to make it easier to install the belt.
- 7). Loop the belt around the drum. Position the other end around the grooves of the pulleys.
- 8). Move the idler pulley arm toward the right to tighten the belt.
- 9). Replace the front panel. Plug the wire connector into its socket. Install the screws in the top of the front panel.

Lower the top panel onto the Whirlpool dryer cabinet. Press down on the top panel to snap it into place. Install the two screws next to the lint filter.
