How Do I Replace the Heating Element on a GE Dryer Model DBL333?
- 1). Disconnect the power cord. Insert the putty knife under the top panel in the front of the DBL333 dryer. Press the putty knife into the spring clips located about 2 inches from each front corner. Lift the top panel up.
- 2). Remove the two screws near the top of the front panel. Unhook the electrical connectors leading from the door switch. Lift the front panel up and away from the dryer to remove it.
- 3). Remove the screw holding the drum spacer bar in place. Lift the bar out of the dryer.
- 4). Slide the belt off the drum. Pull the drum straight out through the front of the dryer to remove it.
- 5). Disconnect the electrical connectors leading to the heating element assembly. Remove the four screws securing the heating element to the dryer cabinet. Remove the heating element.
- 6). Install the new heating element into the dryer cabinet. Install the four screws that hold it in place. Plug the connectors back into their sockets.
- 7). Replace the drum. Wrap the belt around the drum. Position the belt around the pulleys if it has slipped off.
- 8). Replace the drum spacing bar. Install the screw that holds it in place.
- 9). Replace the front panel. Install the two screws that hold it in place. Plug the door switch connectors into their sockets. Lower the top panel onto the DBL333 cabinet.
