Mazda Tribute Maintenance

54

    Every 5,000 Miles

    • Mazda recommends its “Full-Circle” maintenance every four months or 5,000 miles--whichever comes first. At this interval, rotate the tires and change the oil and oil filter. General fluids, such as your engine coolant, windshield washer fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid, should be checked; depending on your vehicle mileage and condition, they may require replacing or replenishing. The engine air filter should also be inspected; if it’s very dirty, replace it instead of waiting for its normal service interval.

    Every 30,000 Miles

    • Replace the automatic transmission fluid at the 30,000-mile service interval. The engine air filter also requires replacing at 30,000 miles, regardless of its condition, although it’s possible that you may have to replace it earlier, depending on its condition. Replace the engine drive belt at this interval as well, whether you have the 2.5L four-cylinder engine or the 3.0L V6 engine. The brakes, ball joints, steering linkages and exhaust system will require inspection.

    Other Maintenance Considerations

    • Replace the spark plugs every 60,000 miles if your Tribute has the 2.5L four-cylinder engine; if it has the 3.0L V6, replace the spark plugs every 75,000 miles. Replace the engine coolant at the 100,000 or six-year interval, whichever comes first. After the initial coolant change, replace the coolant every 50,000 miles or three years. For Tribute models equipped with a manual transmission, replace the fluid every 100,000 miles. The tire inflation level requires checking at least once per month although every two weeks is ideal. Add or remove air as necessary. Keep the tires inflated to the level listed on your door jamb sticker; this level varies depending on the model-year and tire size.

    Benefits of Maintenance

    • Properly maintaining your Mazda Tribute can extend its usable life and keep its engine and other mechanical parts running smoothly. According to the EPA, simply keeping your tires properly inflated can improve your fuel economy by up to 3.3 percent.

Where To Have Your Tribute Serviced

    • You can have your Tribute serviced wherever you’d like; however, Mazda strongly recommends bringing your Tribute to your nearest Mazda dealer. The Mazda service department knows your Tribute better than most independent shops as they work on and service these vehicles daily.
