You will probably want to have a poem that rhymes but you also don't want to try too hard to make it rhyme.
A poem that forces the rhymes has a tendency to sound a bit trite which is not the message that you want to send at funeral.
It will likely take you several attempts to come up with a poem that you will want to use so don't worry if your first one is not good.
