How to Make a Leaf Suit
- 1). Lay out the pants and jacket for your suit. Lay the net or mesh fabric over the jacket and pants.
- 2). Use scissors to cut panels from the mesh that cover the arms, torso and legs. Round the edges of the mesh so they will conform to your movements better as you are wearing the suit. Do this for both sides of the jacket and pants.
- 3). Cut the mesh fabric in half for the front of your jacket to ensure you can button and unbutton the garment. Make sure you make a cut for the pants zipper, and leave enough space around the waist of the pants to wear a belt if you need one.
- 4). Use heavy-duty fabric glue to adhere the mesh or netting to the jacket and pants. Pay special attention to gluing the edges of the mesh to the clothing. If you are using net, glue only where the knots of the net are tied.
- 5). Cut lengths of olive- or slate-colored jute twine into pieces that are 3/4 of a foot in length. Tie these to the mesh until you cover the limbs, torso and legs of the suit.
- 6). Pull leaves off the cloth foliage and tie them to the suit using strands of jute. You can also glue some of the leaves to the suit to cover up any vivid colors that show through the suit.
