    • 1). Wash the jet-ski using a clean rag and mild detergent to remove any dirt or debris. It is necessary to remove the dirt and debris to prevent the staining or discoloring of your jet-ski while in storage.

    • 2). Locate any sharp edges or points on the jet-ski. Cover the sharp edges or points by layering extra rags on top of them to prevent them from tearing the cover. Although a quality cover has reinforcment for such areas, layering rags over the sharp edges will help to extend the life of the cover while the jet-ski is in storage. When trailering the jet-ski, you will need to remove the rags as they may not stay in place.

    • 3). Locate the tag that identifies the front of the cover. Place the front of the cover over the nose of the jet-ski.

    • 4). Pull the cover over the remaining length of the jet-ski. Make sure the handlebar is fitted into the cover properly. The cover, if it was manufactured specifically for your jet-ski, will have extra material in the correct place to accommodate for the handlebar.

    • 5). Finish pulling the cover over the rear of jet-ski so that it fits tightly just below the jet-ski's rub-rail. The rub-rail is the rubber rail that wraps around the jet-ski to prevents damage when the jet-ski rubs against a dock.

    • 6). Locate the front and rear straps on the cover. Fit the straps under the jet-ski and secure the cover by adjusting the straps so that they hold the cover firmly in place.
