32
Did you know that your skin condition today is just a reflection of how you treated it yesterday? They way we take care of our skin plays a vital role in defining the overall health of our skin.
As a matter of fact, those who suffer from premature aging are just paying the price of their skin care negligence in the past.
It's always better to prevent premature aging from happening rather than to treat it once they appear on our face.
Let me share to you some skin sins that you should avoid committing as early as you can.
1.
Over-cleansing.
Over-cleansing your skin can strip away protective oils which serve as the skin's protective barrier.
This can lead to irritation, redness and flaky skin.
Over-cleansing can also over stimulate the oil glands which can prompt it to produce even more oil.
2.
Under-moisturizing.
Once common skincare misconception is that oily skin doesn't require moisturizing.
This is so not true.
When you don't use a moisturizer, the skin will just produce more oil to compensate for the lack of moisture.
However, it is very important to use an oil-free moisturizer if you have oily skin.
3.
Not choosing the right products for your skin type.
This is one of the most common sins that we commit.
Oftentimes, we start using products without considering its compatibility on our skin type.
Always remember that products that works great for some may not exactly work for your skin.
When buying products, always make sure to match it with the type of skin that you have.
4.
Not removing make-up before sleeping.
This is also one of the most common sins that a lot of women commit.
Tiredness is not an excuse to hit the sack without removing make-up from your face.
Failure to do so may cause your skin to break out.
5.
Not using sunscreen.
Nothing ages skin more than prolonged unprotected exposure to the sun.
It is very important to use UVA and UVB blocking sunscreen everyday, all year round to avoid premature aging.
6.
Smoking.
This addicting vice can cause the development of fine lines and wrinkles in our skin.
It speeds up the skin's aging process by draining out the moisture in our skin and by reducing its elasticity.
So if you're a smoker dear reader, please do your skin a favor and try to quit.
7.
Using hot water then cold water when washing the face.
Some say it's best to use hot water to open the pores then cold water to close the pores.
Wrong.
Using hot and cold water can strip away the skin's natural oils which can leave it feeling tight and dry.
It could also break the skin's capillaries so it's really best to use lukewarm water when washing the face.
