How To Relieve Constipation Using Natural Remedies

37
Constipation is defined as an inability to have regular bowel movements resulting in a build-up of faecal matter in the intestines.
The end result is an accumulation of toxic wastes in the colon.
The reasons for constipation are varied.
1.
Inadequate intake of fiber-rich foods.
2.
Excessive consumption of dairy products, processed foods, and fast foods.
3.
Inadequate intake of water and substituting it with coffee, sodas, beer and alcoholic drinks.
4.
Another debatable cause for constipation is lack of exercise.
Though there is no hardcore evidence about the direct influence of exercise, or rather, the lack of it, there is no harm in indulging in some form of exercise.
A mere walk around the block can initiate bowel movements.
Often when someone has constipation, the treatment of choice is an enema or a laxative.
Enemas are very violent on the gentle mucous membranes of the colon and laxatives are associated with side effects when used in the long run.
In addition to the side effects, laxatives are known to cause dependence and often the individual comes to rely heavily on them.
Of late the shift in ideology has been towards the natural or herbal remedies for relieving constipation.
These remedies have longer lasting positive effects and have no potential side effects.
A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and greens can be an excellent starting point in avoiding constipation.
Ripe mangoes are legendary in their ability to relieve and prevent constipation.
One fruit in the morning and one before bed time will ease bowel movements.
Bael fruits are known to relieve constipation.
One fruit consumed on a daily basis helps relieve even the worst case of constipation.
A medium-sized pear at breakfast or after dinner or eating a guava with its seeds helps in good bowel evacuations.
Remember, constipation is a lifestyle disease.
Simple modifications in our diet, an active indulgence in exercises and consumption of good amounts of water is all that is needed at times to prevent its occurrence.
