Origin


In the 5th century the Pug was created in Asia. This breed was also found in China during a war and the  British army took this dog to England. The Pug was generally kept by the  artists, monasteries and people belonging to the fashion world. In 16th  century they came to Europe. The American Kennel Club Introduced this breed in  1885.

General Description


The Pug is a very cute looking breed. It  is very small in size about 11 inches in height and very stout and chubby  looking. They have a big flat head and a small stamped muzzle which is totally  black in colour with a black noose at the tip. the Pug has wrinkles besides its  eyes and forehead and their eyes are very big and round and black in colour.  They have a big face like a bowl and two small ears hanging by their head. It  seems that the muzzle is attached at the same level with the forehead. Their  neck is fat and short and have a wide check which touches the shoulders. The  Pug has small thin legs and limbs and a level back side. Their body is fatty  and stout. They have a small curved tail and a smooth short coat. They are  always found in black and fawn, silver and apricot colour.

Character


The Pug is very cool and cute in  behaviour. They are always very cute and charming in approach. Pugs are very much  loyal and devoted to their families. They love human attention very much and  love to stay with their families. They should not be left alone as they love to  stay attached with their families. Pugs are very cute to children and they love  to play with them. They are same to strangers as they are to family members.  They are also very cute to other dogs and on a whole it can be said that they  are good to all. They have a very charming nature and that is the main reason  they are loved by all.

The Pugs behave very gently, they are very good to  their families and at the same time they are very courageous and love to be  attached with the families. The Pug suffers from many diseases due to its  breeding. They suffer from breathing troubles due to their short muzzle and  they are also affected by inflamated cornea. They can suffer from eye weeping,  allergies, skin problems and they get tired fast. Their average life span is  12-15 years.
