How to Grow an Aspidistra
- 1). Fill the plant pot with loamy soil. Aspidistra plants grow best in loam. If you don't have loam soil in your garden, purchase some from a local garden center.
- 2). Sow the seeds. If you have a small seed, place it on the surface of the soil, and press it down so it's in contact with the soil. If you have a large seed, gently plant it under the surface, at a depth of about 2 times its width.
- 3). Place mulch on top of the seeds and the surrounding area, to protect them and provide extra nutrients.
- 4). Water the seeds frequently. Water shallow-planted seeds lightly, and deeply planted seeds more heavily. Ensure you don't overwater.
- 5). Wait until the seeds sprout, which takes roughly one week to 10 days. Once they do, water them less frequently, but with a greater amount of water. Allow the soil to dry between waterings.
