How to Watch Anime on Your Windows Phone

Despite the incorrect assumption many may have of the Windows Phone ecosystem, there are in fact quite a lot of apps for users to use on the Apple and iPhone competitor ranging from popular smartphone games such as Angry Birds to productivity tools and entertainment apps which allow users to watch all of their favorite TV shows and movies wherever they like.

Here are the best ways to watch anime on your Windows Phone.

Watch Anime on Your Windows Phone with the Hulu Plus App

Hulu is one of the most widely known TV and movie streaming services around and has a rather impressive collection of anime for fans to devour ranging from popular series like Pokemon, Naruto and the new Sailor Moon Crystal to more niche series.

You will need to sign up for the Hulu Plus premium service to watch their shows and movies on the Hulu Plus app, but the sheer quantity of media on offer more than pays for itself.

Watch Anime on Your Windows Phone with the Netflix App

Netflix may not have as many anime series as Hulu but its selection is still impressive and best of all, watching TV shows and movies on the Windows Phone Netflix app doesn’t require any additional memberships or upgrades to your Netflix account.

Crunchyroll was one of the first streaming services to cater almost exclusively to fans of Japanese animation. In addition to classic anime series, Crunchyroll also features episodes of newer anime series that premiere on the streaming service within hours of airing on TV in Japan and a growing library of Asian Drama series all viewable for free with upgrade options for improved image and audio quality.

Most Windows Phone users have probably checked out the packed-in Xbox Video app to watch an episode of a TV show or movie but few ever think to see if there are any anime series or movies on there. There are in fact quite a few such as Naruto Shippuden, Fairy Tail and Sword Art online and unlike all the other Windows Phone apps on this list which just let you stream media, the Xbox Video app allows you to purchase and download anime episodes and movies to be watched when you’re out of cell reception or away from Wi-Fi.

The prices on Xbox Video can be more expensive that buying the same season or movie on DVD and Blu-ray but there are some good bargains in the Xbox Video store and occasionally they give away movies and entire seasons for free!
