How to Change the Line on a Weed Trimmer
- 1). Remove the cap covering the string spool. Push any button you see underneath to release the circular disk and spool. Remove the string.
- 2). Fold about six feet of replacement string in half and stick the point of doubling into one of the two main grooves of the spool. Spin the disk to take up most of the string, winding both ends of the string in the same direction (look on the disk or spool for indication of which direction to wind). Leave unwound six to seven inches on each end of the string.
- 3). Thread the ends of the string through any holes on opposite sides of the disk. Though you wound the two ends of string in the same direction, you'll unwind one end half a turn in order to put the strings through opposite sides of the disk.
- 4). Bring the disk closer to the cavity you removed it from and put the ends of the string through the two holes on opposite sides of the cavity. Snap the disk into the cavity. Don't let go of the string; you don't want it unraveling. Snap the cap back on over the disk. Put the cap back on the trimmer.
