How to Swab the Inner Cheek
- 1). Place the first swab inside your mouth on your upper right cheek. Turn the swab clockwise for 10 seconds and counterclockwise for 10 seconds.
- 2). Take this swab out of your mouth and place in a sterile vial or bag, which is usually provided with the testing kit.
- 3). Place the second swab in your lower right cheek. Turn the swab clockwise for 10 seconds and counterclockwise for 10 seconds.
- 4). Take this swab out of your mouth and place in a sterile vial or bag.
- 5). Repeat this procedure for your upper and lower left cheeks, using the last two swabs. It is standard practice to take several samples to ensure that the test results are clear.
- 6). Send the swabs to the testing center and wait for the results.
