Bosch Dishwasher Help
- Always add detergent to the detergent dispenser but do not overload it. If you have soft water, add 1 tbsp. of dishwasher detergent. Add up to 3 tbsp. of detergent for standard or hard water. Close the cover of the detergent dispenser. Do not block the cover with utensils or dishes. Add a rinse agent to prevent spots from forming on glassware. Close the dishwasher door completely. If the door won't close, push in the racks. Clean the door gaskets or replace if falling off. Select a wash cycle and push start.
- Never prewash dishes with only a few food particles left on them. Rinse off dishes that have caked-on food or grease or items like bones or seeds stuck to them. Only wash dishwasher-safe items in your Bosch dishwasher. Load the upper rack with cups, small dishes, large utensils or upper-rack only dishes. Load the lower rack with pots, pans, bowls and large dishes. Place utensils in the utensil basket. Do not tightly pack dishes as it causes them to bump against each other resulting in chips or cracks. Do not block the sprayer arm.
- If food becomes trapped in your Bosch dishwasher pump or filters, disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply and remove the pump and filters. Clean the filters, digging out any food caught in the pump area with a spoon. Clean the exterior and interior of the dishwasher with dishwasher-safe cleaners. If you see limescale or grease on the spray arm, add detergent to the dishwasher dispenser and run the dishwasher at the highest temperature setting. Do not add the utensil basket.
- If your dishwasher won't start, verify that it is plugged into an outlet and that the door is completely closed. Check your home fuses or circuit breaker and the water supply. If your Bosch dishwasher runs for a long time, see how hot the incoming water is by running the hot water from the faucet in your kitchen sink. Check the temperature with a waterproof thermometer. Increase the water temperature on your hot-water heater if it's below 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Run the dishwasher every two or three days to eliminate odors.
