This is likely to exacerbate insomnia and make the sufferer even less hopeless about their condition.
After months of no sleep, they may decide to see their doctor, but now they've got more than a few nights of sleeplessness to deal with.
Often sufferers experience one or more types of insomnia, experiencing different symptoms and levels severity.
This doesn't mean that insomnia cannot be treated, but it means that several causes need to be tackled at the same time.
