How do I Install a Rolling Curtain Track?
- 1). Use your tape measure to get the length of the track needed to divide the space. Write the measurements down on paper. You need them before you buy the track hardware and fabric.
- 2). Purchase the track hardware and fabric. Determine the yards of fabric needed according to the length of the space and height of the curtains from the ceiling to a few inches above the floor. You also need to know the length of the snap/button tape. It should be the same width as the curtains. Multiply the measurement of the fabric by 1.6, so the fabric is full when you close the curtain.
- 3). Use a sewing machine or needle and thread to sew a simple hem around the outer edges of your curtain. The hem looks more tailored and decorative than frayed edges.
- 4). Sew the snap tape on the top back edge of the curtain. The tape should be 1/2 inch below the top edge of the curtain. This is where the snap tabs attaches the curtain to the track.
- 5). Install your curtain track. Mount the track hardware to the ceiling using your hand drill and screws. The track has holes for the insertion of screws. Attach an end cap onto one side of the track and slide all of the snap tabs on the rack. Place the other end cap on the opposite end of the track.
- 6). Gather your fabric and secure it on the track by snapping the snap tabs on the snap tape located on the top of the fabric. Continue until the curtain is installed completely.
