How to Praise Dance in the Church
- 1). Find fellow dancers by placing an announcement in your church bulletin. Ask any members of the congregation that you think may be interested.
- 2). Choose a style of praise dance and music from the many styles available.
- 3). Choreograph the dance. Spend some time studying the scripture and let the motions come to you while in moments of prayer and meditation.
- 4). Practice the dance together with your group.
- 5). Obtain appropriate wardrobes for the dancers. Praise dancers often wear loose, flowing clothing that drapes over the body, providing full-coverage.
- 6). Speak with the minister, music director and anyone else who plans the church service to coordinate the details of your praise dance performance. Agree upon a time in the service that the dance will take place and talk about whether the group will have any type of spoken introduction before performing.
