Tampa Hog Hunting
- The state of Florida places little regulation on hogs. There is no closed season for wild hogs and no bag limit. It is legal to takes hogs using rifles, shotguns, pistols, muzzleloading firearms, bows, crossbows, and traps.
- Wild hogs can be hunted on public Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) by licensed hunters. The Upper Hillsborough WMA is the closest to Tampa. Each WMA has it's own regulations and season. Upper Hillsborough has no bag limit or size limit. Check the up-to-date brochure for season regulations.
- You do not need to have a hunting license to hunt hogs on private property as long as you have the owner's permission. There are landowners in the area surrounding Tampa that rent the use of their land to hog hunters.
