Power Washers for Peeling Paint
- Power washers put out water at a high pressure. They are used for cleaning and can also be used to remove paint from wood, stone, brick and concrete.
- When used properly a high-pressure power washer will remove loose or peeling paint. When used improperly they may damage the exterior of your home, especially wood exteriors. Start out far away and move in until you have a sense of the strength and power of your power washer.
- Power washers come in three basic PSI/GPM (pounds per square inch/gallons per minute) ratings: 1,300 to 1,800 PSI/Up to 1.5 GPM, 2,000 to 3,000 PSI/Up to 2.5 GPM, 3,000 to 4,000+ PSI/Up to 4.0 GPM. The 3,000 to 4,000+ PSI/Up to 4.0 GPM is used for stripping paint.
