How to Get Rid of Woodchucks Under a Shed
- 1). Set a large raccoon trap or other large trap near an entry hole or pathway that the groundhogs use. Be sure to set the trap as close to the hole as you can, or even on top of it, covered with leaves.
- 2). Set two wooden 2-inch by 4-inch pieces of wood in a V-shape leading to the trap. This will help to direct the groundhog into the trap.
- 3). Bait your trap with a fresh vegetable such as broccoli or cauliflower. This will attract the groundhog into the trap.
- 4). Check your trap at least twice per day, every day. When a groundhog enters, the trap will automatically close, and you cannot leave the groundhog in the trap for too long, or it may injure itself.
- 5). Remove the groundhog to an approved public area or park. Fill in the hole and secure your shed to ensure that no other groundhogs can move in.
