What Do the Various Types of Warts Look Like?
As always in life, there are many false stories that are spread about warts.
For example, there is an old wives' tale that picking up frogs will cause warts to develop on the skin.
This is of course completely untrue and is told to children purely as a deterrent.
Warts are often pain-free and not troublesome at all.
They are small white growths on the skin that are benign and they pose no risk to your health.
Many of us even have the defenses within our body to ward off the wart virus and so will never develop them at all.
There is one type of wart that is more common that all others.
It is a round raised lumpy growth that is uneven in texture.
This type can arise almost anywhere but is most often seen on the fingers and around the nails.
Other warts are flush to the skin and are totally flat.
They are usually very tiny and it may even be difficult to see them and recognize that you are suffering from them.
Plantar warts grow on the soles of the feet.
They are rough and hard with small dark spots inside of them.
These warts can become sore due to the fact that you are walking on them every day and placing the weight of your body onto them.
Yet another type of wart exists and this is called the filiform wart.
These warts are different again, and quite unique in that their shape is long and thin like a finger.
They are quite small and often show up in clusters on the face and neck.
Unfortunately they also often grow on eyelids which can be very uncomfortable and is very visible to other people.
