Living Room Decoration With Stones

12

    Decorative Stones

    • Fill a clear glass vase 2/3 of the way with a variety of decorative stones for an elegant decoration piece. Or use the same color stones, such as black, to make a color accent in a room. Decorative stones are natural, polished and unpolished stones found in a variety of colors and types.

Place a few decorative stones at the bottom of a glass vase, add water and flowers or another plant. Surround the outside bottom of a glass vase (containing a plant) with five or six decorative stones or place just one large stone next to it. Put a few stones inside and outside of your vase.

Surround a small grouping of pillar and votive candles with a few decorative stones to create a peaceful, Zen-like meditation centerpiece. Stack several medium-to-large, flat, polished stones for an Asian touch. Find these inexpensive stones in hobby and craft stores or online, sold in net bags and in bulk. Collect stones in the mountains and other outdoor areas abundant with stone.

    Tabletop Fountains

    • Add a stone tabletop fountain to transform your living room into a tranquil, harmonious space. Place a small fountain on your coffee table to add elegance. Set up a larger fountain on its own table to become the focal point.

Decorate a fountain with small or medium-size decorative stones or with natural crystals, such as amethyst and quartz. Add lights or plants.

    Statues and Sculptures

    • Decorate your fireplace mantel with statues or sculptures made from a variety of stone, including sandstone and marble. Arrange a grouping of statues on a table or place one large sculpture in a corner as an accent piece. Hang sculptures on your wall.

    Himalayan Salt Rock Crystals

    • Add warmth to your living room with Himalayan salt rock crystal lamps. These are made from chunks of natural crystal salt rock mined in the Himalayan mountains and are said to be millions of years old. Light your salt rock lamps for added beauty and ambiance. These lamps come with light bulbs or candles. Although not yet fully supported by science, some claim the heat from the bulbs and flame causes the salt rocks to release negative ions into the air, purifying the room.
