How to Disable Virtual Memory in a Disk Drive

    • 1). Click the "Start" button, right-click "Computer" and select "Properties."

    • 2). Click "Advanced system settings" in the left-hand pane.

    • 3). Click the "Advanced" tab of the "System Properties" window.

    • 4). Click "Settings" under the "Performance" section.

    • 5). Click "Advanced" in the "Performance Options" window.

    • 6). Click "Change..." under the "Virtual memory" section.

    • 7). Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives."

    • 8). Click the disk drive letter from which you wish to disable virtual memory.

    • 9). Click "No paging file" at the bottom and click "Set." Click "Yes" in the confirmation window.

      Click "OK" on all three pop-up windows to accept the settings and close the windows.
