If you've been around the drinking world for awhile you may have seen some of Maker's Mark special promotions. Sure, the advertising is outstandingly creative but it's the wax dipped novelties that are too much fun. Mary Thompson is in charge of specialty dipping and it's said she has and will dip almost anything. Baseball gloves and chalkboards among them, almost no object is beyond Thompson's dipping ability.

The day we arrived she had two larger sized gourds that were waiting for her red wax treatment, she is what you might call the Master Dipper.
