French Quarter RV Resort

• Located within walking distance of New Orleans' French Quarter, the privately owned French Quarter RV Resort features 52 paved campsites with full patios. All sites are at least 30 feet by 60 feet in size and feature full electric, water and sewage hookups as well as connections for satellite television, wired Internet access and telephone service at no additional charge. Wireless Internet access is also available throughout the campground. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, an ice machine and a community gas barbecue grill. A business center is available with an ATM, fax machine and copier. Guests can use the resort's exercise room and enjoy its in-ground, saltwater swimming pool and hot tub. Lake Fausse Point

• A public campground operated by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Lake Fausse Pointe State Park is in St. Martinville, a community approximately 140 miles west of New Orleans. In addition to being home to the park, the community offers a variety of other attractions for tourists, such as the African American Museum and the Arcadian Memorial. The campground has 55 paved recreational vehicle campsites that measure 40 feet by 50 feet. Fifty sites have electric and water connections, while five have no hookups and are for primitive camping only. Although no campsite sewage connections are offered, the camp has a waste dump. Restrooms, showers and a laundry room are also available. Lake Fausse Pointe is a popular spot for freshwater fishing and boating, and the park also has four hiking trails and a playground. Boat, canoe and kayak rentals are available. Campers can enjoy the park year-round. There is a 14-day maximum for all stays.

Bayou Wilderness Resort

• A privately owned campground, Bayou Wilderness RV Resort is in the rural area of Carenco, about 60 miles southwest of Baton Rouge. The park consists of 120 gravel, pull-through recreational vehicle campsites, the longest of which can accommodate vehicles up to 70 feet in length. All campsites have full electric, water and sewage hookups and most have cable television connections. Wireless Internet is available throughout the campground, and long-term guests can receive telephone service. Among the campground's amenities are restrooms, showers, a laundry facility, a waste dump and public telephones. The park operates a store that sells propane, RV supplies and basic groceries. For recreation, campers can fish in the campground's pond, swim in the in-ground pool complete with water slides or relax in the hot tub. A paved tennis court is located on the property as well as a playground, shuffleboard court, volleyball net and horseshoe pits. The campground is also near a number of attractions, such as Acadian Village in Lafayette, the Tabasco Pepper Sauce Factory in Avery Island and Atchafalaya Basin boat tour in Henderson. Bayou Wilderness RV Resort is open year-round.
