How to Expand My Computer When Windows Explorer Opens
- 1). Click the "Start" button on the taskbar to open the start menu.
- 2). Click "Search." In the text box, type "Windows Explorer." Click the magnifying glass icon. From the list of search results, double-click "Windows Explorer." Find "My Computer" in the list on the left-hand window of Windows Explorer.
- 3). Click the plus sign next to the "My Computer" icon and label to expand it. To expand any of the components of "My Computer," click on the component's or folder's name or click the plus sign next to it. By repeating this process, you can view any folder or component in "My Computer."

- 2). Click "Accessories." Right-click Windows Explorer.

Click "OK." This will cause the default window that opens when you open Windows Explorer to be set to "My Computer" instead of "My Documents."
